Ready Set ‘Play’! – The Countdown begins to River of Light
We are thrilled to announce that three of our artworks will be showcased in this year’s edition of River of Light, taking place on Liverpool’s iconic waterfront from 25 October to 5 November.
This free, immersive event will feature a dozen light installations inspired by the theme of ‘Play’, and our contributions are set to be among the highlights.
Illusion Hole – Royal Albert Dock
Created by UxU Studio from Taiwan, Illusion Hole presents the captivating effect of water flowing into a mysterious black hole. The installation explores the boundaries between reality and illusion, provoking thoughts about our perception of truth.
Lightbattle III – Royal Albert Dock
Designed by Dutch creatives VENIVIDMULTIPLEX, Lightbattle III is an interactive and energetic piece where participants can hop on a bike and race to intensify the vibrant colors around them. It’s a joyful celebration of cycling and physical activity.
Bunch of Tulips – Liverpool ONE
Hungarian artists Koros Design Studio have brought an oversized bouquet of tulips to life with their installation, Bunch of Tulips. This playful, larger-than-life representation of the iconic flower offers a fun and visually stunning addition to the trail.
Liverpool’s beloved River of Light festival will transform the city into an exciting night-time playground, with 12 light installations spanning a 3km trail along the waterfront. From giant gnomes to a celebration of Diwali, the event promises a visual feast that highlights the joy of play.
This year’s theme also ties into Liverpool’s mission to become a UNICEF UK Child Friendly City, supporting children’s rights to play and recreation as outlined in the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child. A series of engagement programmes will accompany the event, with artists visiting schools and community groups to inspire creativity in the next generation.
Stay tuned for more updates and don’t miss the chance to experience the magic from 25 October to 5 November!
