The Anooki

The Anooki are two characters inspired by Inuits, a group of indigenous people inhabiting the Arctic regions of Greenland, Canada and the United States. As their ice floes are melting, they now travel the world with cheeky determination to inspire us to take care of the earth.

The Anooki are the happiest messengers for environment and are well placed to observe our planet fragility, and climate change. They are the first climate refugees and the first to be affected by global warming. So they dance, they sing, tell stories about friendship, make us dream, and laugh. It’s their way to enhance public awareness on environmental issues. The Anooki come in different versions, including Poursuite, Apparition, Best Friends and Recreation.

About the artist

The Anooki characters came about in 2000, when two designers, Moetu Batlle and David Passegand founded Inook, their interactive design company. Moetu, a perfectionist graphic designer and David, a digital handyman with great animator talent, both graduated from Ecole Supérieure de Design Industriel.
