Resting VXNXS

This huge inflatable Resting VXNXS reminds us of the real beauty found in all types of bodies. The bright pink VXNXS has no problem holding the space they occupy, with their warm, soft appearance. We cannot help but get close to them and admire their size, power and beauty.

This artwork acts as a beacon which calls us together, to place our bodies in the space of comfort, to rest, to be mindful, and share rituals of softness, self- and community care.

About the artist

Dean Hutton AKA Goldendean (ZA, 1976) makes trouble. Working at the intersections of trans-media visual culture, performance and community action, their studio practice bridges genres of documentary, fiction and fantasy to produce radical queer counter narratives and experiences for repair and resistance. As Goldendean, their strategy of simple disruptive action shares moments of soft courage, affirming the right of all bodies to exist, be celebrated, and protected. They use their 25-year experience as a photojournalist and their practice as a performance artist to craft meaningful engagements that bridge imagination and direct action.
