House of Cards

House of Cards consists of 125 playing cards that light up simultaneously and separately. The ingenious light installation has different levels; it resembles a modern church, or a large classicistic box of blocks.

The idea came from the discovery that at there was a famous printing house for playing cards in Amsterdam at the beginning of the twentieth century: ‘de Speelkaartenfabriek Nederland’ (NSF). Every card in the construction has a different design, designed by Amsterdam street artists.

While many other light installations are working only at night, House of Cards has a beautiful impact during day and night - daytime: white, yet colorful, minimalistic, clean and sleek, evening and night: a colorful vibrant light show.
