Light Matters
Out of the darkness, a moving light appears in between the trees; dancing in the middle of the sky it looks like a mirage. Images from natural phenomena are projected on a net and continuously change shape, colour and intensity.
Light has brought us comfort and wonderment since the beginning of time, but that role has been partial to artificial lighting in the decades. Rare treasures from the universe like the northern skies, the deep sea, and the centre of the earth float above us as a reminder of how much Light Matters.
About the artist
ACT Lighting Design (ACTLD) is a Belgian design agency, founded in 1995 by Koert Vermeulen. The agency designs lighting and visual environments, as well as temporary light installations for festivals and events. Innovation, human experience and sustainability are often vital in their work.
